As part of the design services Creative Lighting Concepts provide, Simon conducts a walkthrough during construction with the client to understand the flow of the interiors and their functionality. He will pay attention to where furniture and artwork will be placed to design a lighting plan that will create a mood and highlights features.
The lighting plan he designs may include:
1. General lighting – the illumination of an area for general use.
2. Task lighting – the illumination of an area for a specific task

- food preparation
- reading
- dining
- work areas
- billiard tables
- make up area

3. Mood lighting – softer lighting to create different areas (or moods) through creative lighting. This may also involve the use of colour:

- pieces of art, niches in walls
- floor lighting (bouncing light off tiles or polished timber floors)
- up lighting of ceilings
- lighting external pathways, architectural features
- water features, pools.

4. Special effect lighting – creation of special effects in response to a particular client brief:

- fibre optic star ceiling systems with shooting stars and/or fireworks
- fibre optic custom made chandeliers
- resin floor tiles with embedded fibre optic stars
- fibre optic colour changing waterfalls
- pool perimeter lighting, jetty perimeter lighting
- colour changing pools and spas
- colour changing LED strips with 312 stage effects to colour wash walls, ceilings, under bars, coffers and niches
- LED colour changing walls.
